Due to our rich musical history we have most diversified musical flavours influenced by rock, metal, industrial, folk, funk and orchestral sounds.

We are Collective Decay

We combine different styles of metal music, with focus on rhythmic variants, dominant lead vocals and spherical synthesizer sounds. We act as one unit. Everybody passionately contributes to the band’s songwriting with her/his instrument and individual musical background. Playing and creating together new sounds is what we love to do most!

Vocals

The first time I heard Tarja’s voice, accompanied by the symphonic metal sound of Nightwish, I wanted to be able to sing like her. I used to take lessons in opera singing for several years. During this time I joined several metal bands in Switzerland. Currently, I’m working with Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie) on my voice and recording skills. Eventually, I joined Collective Decay in 2017.

After several years of playing piano I had the chance to be part of a school band as bass player. A few years later, inspired by various contemporary bands of my youth, I formed my first rock/metal band. I have continued to play in various bands with different styles including touring with the famous Swiss rock band Tempesta. In order to evolve musically, I took some time off to improve my bass playing and develop my skills as a musician in general. Missing the stage and playing live, I finally found my way to Collective Decay.

Drums

I started in my school’s band as a drummer by accident. Meeting other musicians and my love to the dark sounds of metal brought me to my first doom/death metal band. Over the years I have gained my experience as a drummer also in other styles of music such as funk and German singer-songwriter. Later I was hired by a German gothic band for studio recordings and national touring. After further excursions in the gothic field, I came back to metal and finally to Collective Decay.
